የሚያስታውሷቸው ሰዎችና ሁኔታዎች / Notable People & Experiences
1) Mr. Paul Beaudry, Scout Master - very often asked us, "have you made somebody smile today?" And i never forget it! 2) Mr. Noel Rodrigue - Assistant Scout Master first, then Scout Master after our dear Beaudry's passing. He very well understood, spoke and read Amharic. The way he read Amharic was quite unfirgetable in that it very much sounded like reading English.
የሚያስታውሷቸው ካምፖችና ጉዞዎች / Notable Camp & Trip Experiences
Hiking to climb Mt. Ziquala - I believe it was only Patrol leaders hiking (of course with the troop leaders and the Scout Master (Rodrigue). May also have included assistant patrol leaders). Was friday evening, right after study hall as usual. For some reason, we were dropped at Dukem by two jesuits with two jeeps (I remember one was for sure Mr. Tourenne, and the second may have been Mr Payer, but not sure). It was almost dark when started the walk from Dukem towards Ziquala, and after about three or four hours walk, we didn't seem to reach the foot of the mountain and yet already very exhausted. It was then decided to camp, but, with the exception of the Master, none if us wanted to put up the tents and simply slept on the ground with our ground-sheets underneath the sleeping bags. Guess what? (to be continued).
